Norway's Independance Day ~ May 17th.

Yes that is right, I really do not understand it, even when my Mamma explained it to me...she said that in Norway they celebrate today because ....( you wont understand it either Dawgs, but I will tell you any way..(because she is making me )

After beeing under Danish rule for some 400 years Norway had her own revolution in 1814. A very peaceful revolution, consisted of calling a constituonal convention which declared that Norway is a free and indivisable kingdom. 

 

The constitution of the Kingdom of Norway proclaimed by the Constituent Assembly at Eidsvold on the 17th of May 1814. 

"There shall be liberty of the Press. No person must be punished for any writing, whatever its contents may be, which he has caused to be printed or published, unless he wilfully and manifestely has either himself shown or incited others to disobeidence to the laws, contemt of religion or morality or the constitutional powers, or resistance to their orders, or has advanced false and dematory accusations against any other person. Everyone shall be free to speak his mind frankly on the administration of the State or on any subject whatsoever."

The Constitution day is still the most celebrated in the nation. But it is not celebrated - as independence is in other nations - with large military parades and displais of the most terrifying military parades with arms and weapons. 

Norway`s birthday is celebrated with party-clothed children and adults who walk in a parade singing. 

This is the Day of an independent and freedom-loving people. And children`s parades is everywhere in the country. Everywhere - even in the smallest villages: Children are singing! 

Norway`s day of independence is the day for the future: It is the day for the children - Children of all ages: Young and old!

And last, Norway also won the Eurovison Grand Prix ( is like each country in Europe has their own American howling, and then one person wins, and then each country competes against all the other countries in Europe..it is so important that it made mamma cry red,blue and white ( colors of the Norwegian flag) tears...

and here is the winning performance and song..dawgs you might want to put your paws over your ears..this howling hurts my ears!

Mine does..insists I sit on the sofa right next to her, just so I have to  to live through not only the howling** on TV but also Mamma's howling after each howling...and This is my take on it all

Greetings Dawgs~ and wishing everydawg a beautiful Spring

Last weekend~ after...my first spring swim in the lake

 

Just a little bit of " dawg venting " So my mamma got a new job last fall, and in her departing remarks on her first day of work, she said: " Chancelot, I know that you are used to me being home with you, I know that you are used to me running with you in the woods every day, I know you are used to resting at my feet under my desk at peace with the world,....well a few things are about to change regretfully, but I am sure they will balance out in not too long...."...Ahhh nope no balance...way down on the runs in the woods, and way down on the under mamma's desk with HER THERE!!!

For the ladies out there, and ofcourse specially my two very favorites ones, Amber solid dancer, and Asta in NY..here is a recent headshot of me..I think I look rather debonair..don't you ladies?

I am a little worried about my cousins Nook and Pooka being without Aunt Vanessa and Uncle Sandy. The two of them are on some kind of journey involving elephants, tigers, lions, water buffalos and the likes. I have never seen one of those dogs in real life, but mamma showed me pictures of them, and I am pretty sure I am related to the dogs called lions..and maybe even tigers.

Nanook and Pooka ...well they might be more related to the water buffolos..maybe..for sure not the lions and tigers...hey could be related to the elephnats also...they sure are big enough.  

I miss all of my blog friends, and I think that maybe mamma is a little more avaialbe for blogging now...Thank Doggies...

The best thing about warmer days approaching is ICE CREAM~~~I am wondering if Amber's babies has had a taste of human ice cream...the very reason I think we are *here is to experience human ice cream~~~don't you agree????

Miss everyone, and can't believe Miss Amber has babies now, and I am so pleased she is such a good mamma...I knew she would be. My only regrets is that she is so far away and that I am not the pappa of her babies~~~we would have made beautiful music for sure.

Do you see me on the bridge?

Belive it or not, my mamma took me running here (picture) yesterday. We ran 3 miles. It was wonderful to feel the icey air on my face, and I ran and jumped and laughed.
But I was a little scared for my mamma, because by the time we got back to the car, her face was a curious shade of deep purple, and she said she could not feel her body, and that it was frozen...Holy bark...I wondered if frozen people defreeze, and I am happy to report to all you dawgs...they do! Today she is back to a nice shade of pink, and seem to be defrosted.

Thank you~ I am doing very well, as is my whole family, but the world of blogs has suffered for the last few months, and for this I am very sorry. Over the next few days I will do my best in updating everyone on my life~I am as always smiling and as always spoiled beyond life* ( mamma says this all the time, but she says it with such warmth in her voice that I cant help but think it is a good thing ...)

Celebrating "almost" Spring.....

HI EveryDog.... Can someone enlighten me on what is happening around...weddings...birthday parties..etc. please...I feel like I have been gone for years...

Hello EveryDog...Yeah yeah I know...we have been MIA

`But we ARE still around, though we are waiting desperately for spring....We have spent a bit of time at Pooka and Nanook's house, which has been beautiful because I LOVE the ocean and the beach.
